message: Interesting site. I've been teaching my daughter about Irish history
and am always looking for new material. Unfortunately, I know very little about
my own family history. My great grandfather, John Malone immigrated somewhere
around the turn of the last century and settled near Chicago. Apparently, it
wasn't under the best of circumstances as my grandfather, Guy Malone, was always
reluctant to discuss anything about his family. Anyway, I'll browse the site and
pass any learnings on to my daugher.

name: Marcia Malone Bell
email: marcia.bell@insightbb.com
surnames: Malone, Foley, Cooney, Fitzgerald, Slattery
message: I found this web site fascinating. I am the daughter of Elizabeth
Malone Bell formerly of Maysville, KY. My mother's father was James Ambrose
Malone of Maysville/Washington, KY. His wife, my grandmother was Elizabeth Foley
Malone also of Maysville. Her mother was a Mary Elizabeth Cooney, a descendant
of Mary Bridget Cooney of Ireland. Two of Mary Bridget's children were born in
Tipperary and the others in Kerry. I am related to Fitzgerald's through both my
grandmother and grandfather's side of the family. I have a copy of a family
history from the Cooney side that is not complete, but indicates that my grandma
Malone who was a Foley and her mother a Cooney, is traced to Tipperary Ireland.
I would very much like to have more information on the Malone's. I was always
told that my grandfather's parents were Irish imigrants or born to Irish
imigrants. My grandfather James Ambrose Malone had three brothers all raised in
Maysville, KY. I have little or no information abou!
t them. My full maiden name is Marcia Malone Bell. I am very proud of my family
heritage and even named my private practice after my family, Malone Family
Therapy. If anyone out there has information about my grandfather, who was also
known as "Shag" and quite the partier, I have been told, I would like to hear
about the history.
