Comment : Looking for information on the Malones who settled in Haynesville, Maine - believe they may have come from New Brunswick or Nova Scotia - originally from Ireland. My Grandmother is a Malone - her father was Fred Malone I beleive.

Comment : Good site. The Malones of Wexford are originally from Athlone. A Large group moved to Wexford in the late 16th Century. Almost all Malones in Wexford a First or Second Cousins this is probably due to the faact that such a large portionof the family moved at the same time. The story goes, they moved through Killkenny and Carlow down from Meath and Dublin and settled in south wexford. There now seems to be a large population in wexford but as earlier stated, these malones are almost all related. From my own research, I have noticed a trail of Malones in Meath Dublin, kilkenny and carlow. These could have been members of the family that settled during the migration. On the subject of the O' Connor connection, there is a ancient legend in the Malone family history that we are related to the High Kings of Ireland. That we were a branch of the O'Connors that originally had Druidic connections and then changed to Christianity. That is where Clonmacnoise comes into the story.
